Samsung is now shipping the August 2022 Android security patch to the Galaxy S21 devices. As usual, Samsung rolled out this update earlier than anyone — even Google itself.
The August 2022 security update for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra has begun landing as firmware version G99xBXXU5CVGB, per SamMobile. The update brings August 2022 security updates with dozens of vulnerabilities fixes and improves system stabilities.
The update is being rolled out in Germany at the moment, Samsung’s August 2022 update should arrive for other flagships and mid-rangers in more regions in the coming weeks.
If you have not received the update yet, you can manually check on your Galaxy handsets by heading to Settings > Software update. Users also have the option to grab the new release directly from Samsung’s Firmware Update Server (FUS) and flash it manually on their Galaxy device.
Samsung launched Galaxy S21 series back in January 2021 with the latest Android 11 based on the One UI 3.1 version, last year in December company started rolling out One UI 4.0 based on Android 12 update for these smartphones, currently, device is running on One UI 4.1 update.
