Samsung Galaxy S23 might be packed with ARM’s next-gen CPU cores

Samsung’s upcoming flagship Galaxy S23 family could feature an ARM’s next-gen CPU cores. The latest ARM’s Cortex-A715, Cortex-X3 core, and the Cortex-A510 CPU core are the new GPU and CPU cores for the upcoming flagships.

Last year, the company released the Cortex X2 core which was used in the current Samsung flagship (Galaxy S22 phone) with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Exynos 2200, and MediaTek 9000/9000+ SoC. The latest ARM’s CPU core features a 22% more increased performance only with a 3nm fabrication process.

The ARM also revealed its mid-tier core name Cortex-A715 which is not much faster than its previous but has still more power than it. This A715 core delivers only 5% more performance than its last core as the company has focused on the power efficiency of its mid-tier CPU core.

Talking about the power efficiency of the Cortex-A715 core, it can deliver 20% more power than last year. Hence, it can be expected that the upcoming smartphones could offer more battery life in the future.

According to ARM, it delivers 25% more performance with its next-gen CPU core than its alternative Intel core i7 1260P mid-tier laptop CPU. Still, the latest ARM core is not faster than Apple’s M1 and M2 fastest processors.

ARM’s Cortex-A510 small CPU cores provide more 5% power efficiency than the previous core. The next-gen CPU core has also brought optional support for 32-bit apps.
