Samsung Android 13-based One UI 5.0 public beta testing may kick-off by July

Google has already started the preparation for its next major upgrade, the Android 13. The OS, however, is currently in the Developer Preview stage, but the company will soon start public beta testing.

And while other OEMs are still stuck on the Android 12 rollout, Samsung seems to be a step ahead of them in chasing Google. According to the latest information (via Sammobile), the Korean tech giant may kick-start the public beta testing for Android 13 and One UI 5.0 by July.

This is earlier than usual and we can take it as an improvement and is pretty impressive as the company is continuously working to make its software ecosystem better year by year. Additionally, it will also provide enough time for the beta testers and the company itself to polish its upcoming OS.

This means that the owners of flagship Galaxy devices — Galaxy S22, to be the first among others — could get a chance for One UI 5.0 beta testing and experience the new features of Android 13 in just three to four months from now.

The early timeline for the beta testing also indicates that the eligible Galaxy devices will soon start receiving the One UI 5.0. However, this may not be the final news and it’s hard to tell at such an early stage when actually the beta testing will begin. So, we recommend our readers take this information with the pinch of salt.

We are still too far from the One UI 5.0 beta testing as Samsung already has One UI 4.1.1 planned before Android 13. And currently busy rolling out the One UI 4.1 to its eligible devices. And you can check more about it in our dedicated tracker here.
