    Carrier locked Samsung Galaxy A50 receiving December 2021 security update

    Samsung is rapidly pushing the December 2021 security update to its smartphones and tablets. Earlier today, the company rolled out the new SMR (security maintenance release) to the Galaxy F41 model in India. That was followed by the Galaxy Z Flip 5G in the US. Now, the carrier-locked Galaxy A50 series is picking up this months security update.

    Samsung started kicking off a new security update for the carrier locked Galaxy A50 unit in the U.S. It arrives with build number A505USQSHDUK1. Apart from bringing new under hood changes, the latest system update also bumps up the security patch level to December 2021.

    The latest firmware brings will fix dozens of vulnerabilities and improves system stability. The update is appear to be rolling out in the U.S on Comcast’s and Sprint’s networks. The new OTA will take a week or two for the update to become more widely available

    The size of the update is not specified. However, it is still recommended to update the smartphone while connected to a stable Wi-Fi connection and charging. Users can wait for notifications about updates to arrive on their eligible Samsung devices, or they can manually check for updates by going to “Settings”> “Software Update”> “Download and Install.
