Started with the first developer preview in February 2021, the Android 12 reached its stability with the recently released Android 12 Beta 5.1 for the Pixel devices. Google released in total 3 developers’ previews and 5 betas before the new Android reached its stability.
After all these testings, Google has finally made the Android 12 official. Soon this Android OS will make its way to devices near you starting with Pixel phones.
At the same time, the search engine giant also released the source code to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
In the next few weeks, the Android 12 will be available on devices from OEMs including Samsung, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, Tecno, vivo, and Xiaomi. Check if your device is eligible for Android 12 here:
The Android 12 comes with a bunch of features along with new UI including redesigned widgets, notification UI updates, stretch overscroll, and app launch splash screens.
Moreover, there are several improvements in the performance, optimizations in foreground services, more responsive notifications, and faster machine learning. The privacy dashboard includes a bunch of security-related features.
